I've never done pilates before, can I just try one class?
Yes! We offer one-time classes for $35, however, new things are best tried more than once! This is why we offer 3 classes for $30 for new comers so they can give pilates a proper chance.
Who can do pilates?
Our classes are suitable for all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
What equipment is used in pilates?
Common equipment includes mats, reformers, and various props like resistance bands and balls.
How often should I practice pilates?
Ideally, 2-3 times a week for optimal results, but even once a week can be beneficial.
What are the benefits of pilates?
Improves posture, increases flexibility, strengthens core muscles, and enhances overall body awareness.
Is pilates safe for pregnant women?
Yes, but it’s essential to consult with a healthcare provider and consider modifications.
Can pilates help with injury rehabilitation?
Yes, it can aid in recovery by promoting strength and flexibility, but always consult a professional first.
What should I wear to a pilates class?
Comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows for movement, along with non-slip socks if desired.
How long is a typical pilates class?
Classes usually last between 45 to 60 minutes.
Do I need to have prior experience to join a class?
No prior experience is necessary; many classes cater to beginners.
What is a group reformer class?
Group Reformer Classes are the most common type of Pilates and make up a majority of our class offerings at Pure Balance Pilates.
In these classes, you will utilize a Reformer machine that consists of a sliding carriage, springs, and adjustable bars that provide varying levels of resistance, making it versatile for a wide range of exercises.
During these classes, an instructor guides the group through exercises that focus on core stability, muscle toning, and overall body balance. Group Reformer Pilates classes are great for individuals of all fitness levels and offer a fun, communal way to improve strength, posture, and flexibility.

What memberships do you offer?
We offer lots of membership options! You can view them all by clicking here.
How soon before a class can I cancel?
In order to not be charged, you must cancel 12 hours prior to the class start time. If you do not cancel before then, you will automatically be charged for the class.
Cancellations made 12+ hours before the class starts, will not be charged.
If you don’t sign-in for a class that you are signed up for, you will also be automatically charged.
What is your cancellation policy?
GROUP REFORMER CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
(12 hour notice required)
In order to ensure a fair opportunity for all of our clients to attend their desired group class(es), Pilates by Jean requires a 12-hour notice if an Pilates by Jean member needs to cancel a group reformer class. There are no exceptions. Failure to cancel a class 12 hours in advance will cause the entire cost of a session to be forfeited OR a $15 charge be assessed to the member’s account (see details below).
- If you are on a 10 or 20 class package, one session will be forfeited.
- If you are on a 4, 8, or 12 class per month contract, one session will be forfeited.
- If you are on an Unlimited Package or Contract, you will automatically be charged a $15.00 late fee to the card we have on file.
The easiest way to cancel a class is to log in to your MindBody account and cancel the class. If you need to cancel during a time that Pilates by Jean is open, you may email, call or text to let us know that you need to cancel.
An email, call or text to the studio during non-business hours DOES NOT guarantee that you will be cancelled within the 12 hour window.
During non-business hours, we do not have staff checking emails, calls and/or texts and therefore cannot immediately cancel your class and offer to the next person on the wait list in a reasonable
amount of time.
PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE PILATES CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
(24 hours notice required)
Pilates by Jean requires 24 hours cancellation notice if you cannot make your scheduled private or semi-private Pilates session. There are no exceptions.
If you do not show up to your session and/or do not give 24 hours notice for a cancellation, you will lose the full price of the session.
The easiest way to cancel a class is to log in to your MindBody account and cancel the class. If you need to cancel during a time that Pilates by Jean is open, you may email, call or text to let us know that you need to cancel.
An email, call or text to the studio during non-business hours DOES NOT guarantee that you will be cancelled within the 24 hour window.
During non-business hours, we do not have staff checking emails, calls and/or texts and therefore cannot immediately cancel your class to let the appropriate trainer know that they may fill the spot with another client.
